I qualified as a Specialist Speech and Language Therapist at Manchester Metropolitan University in 2008. Whilst studying I had a number of placements and volunteer roles with autistic children and decided that I wanted to specialise in that area.

Since qualifying I have worked with autistic children and adults in a number of different settings including specialist and mainstream schools and residential homes. I have also been a research therapist on a large-scale research trial. I currently work part time for the NHS within a second opinion autism team.

I have completed a range of training including; Autism Diagnostic Observation Schedule (ADOS) Pediatric Autism Communication Therapy (PACT), Social Communication Emotional Regulation Transactional Support (SCERTS) Intensive Interaction, Picture Exchange Communication System (PECS), Attention Autism, Makaton and Social Skills Institute Secret Agent Society. In 2017 I completed my masters in autism from Northumbria University.
