Contact a Family – North East Re: Group Day

Do you run a parent support group in the North East?

Then why not come along to the next Contact a Family Groups Development Day which is taking place on Tuesday 24 May 2016from 10.00am-2.00pm (lunch and refreshments are included) at The Dene Centre, Castle Farm Road, Newcastle upon Tyne NE3 1PH

The aims of these days are to bring group leaders together to share information, ideas and tips and hints about running support groups for parents with children with additional needs or disabilities in the region. They are useful for those who are just starting out, those who’ve been running a group for a little while and those who have had a group running for years – there’s always something to learn!
They are open to both parents and paid workers who run support groups in this region.

The focus for this Local Groups Support Day is looking at ways to help you reach further and how you can promote your group with the wider community. The session will help you to:

  • Identify the Gaps
  • Look at Areas of Development
  • See how you can progress to reach out across your local community to widen the number of families you reach

We have booked Lorraine Patterson an external facilitator to come along and facilitate the day. Lorraine recently did a webinar for Parent Forums about how they extend their reach.

If you are interested in attending, please email us at northeast.office@cafamily.org.uk to book your place or for any further information.

We can offer 2 places per support group so you can bring someone along from your group too.
